TaT’s open innovation : Our take on Augmented passenger
The guys from @TATMobileUI have started a Open Innovation series of post in their blog, and the one about cars brought my attention to some of our work in the beginning of this year : The AR for the passenger on the back seat (read their post here) was also a subject for us, but we were playing with the possibility of adding interaction as well :

Also using a pico projector (actually 2) centered in the ceiling, able to project in the opposite directions.
For the front seat, there’s no need of the mobile phone to be there in the dashboard. We think the phone is personal, and like Nokia, we believe in the car’s screen and projectors being able to “connect” and display the phone’s screen when needed. (read more about the Genivi project here )

Among other ideas we draw the scenario where the mobile phone is the storage of personal preferences when one car is shared in the family. You enter the car, connect the phone wirelessly or via NFC and the car loads all the preferences of that particular driver :

The nice thing about it all? Is to see the same ideas shaped slightly different across multiple companies and learn from other’s discovery while being able to share your as well.
